As we recently learned through the Anthony Joshua / Luis Ortiz negotiations, Deontay Wilder has no plans whatsoever to fight Anthony Joshua in the near future.
After Big Baby Miller failed multiple drugs tests Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn went scrambling to get the biggest name possible to save MSG June 1st Event and ensure that Anthony Joshua’s United States debut would be a Big Bang.
As Hearn was trying to lure King Kong Ortiz into the ring, Hearn saw that King Kong wasn’t as interested as it appeared he would be.
That’s because Ortiz and Polish Heavyweight, Brooklyn’s Adam Kownacki have been promise title shots against Wilder is they, “just sit tight and keep it on the down low”.
So here we are the fools/ fans thinking and talking about a possible massive showdown between Wilder & AJ and we see that it’s the farthest thing from happening.
Wilder is calling out Wladimir Klitschko, trying to lure him out of retirement and says he wants the Tyson Fury rematch.
Wilder is currently set to fight Dominic Breazeale (who Joshua KO’d) in three weeks and already has Ortiz and Kownacki lined up to fight through 2020.
In this day and age, if you talk a big game and keep marketing it, the public will believe anything. After all we went to Iraq for those weapons of mass destruction because it was so imminent.
Wilder and the milking of boxing continue as fans crave / want to see the best fights
