Golden Boy Promotions is proud to announce the signing of Wanheng Menayothin (Chayaphon Moonsri), who has a brilliant world beating record of 53 wins with 18 knockouts, and no defeat.
Menayothin, World Boxing Council minimum champion, was born in Maha Sarkhm, Thailand and made his professional debut in January 2008. In his third fight he captured the WBC Youth Minimum Title and then captured two affiliated belts.
He became the WBC minimum world champion in November 2014, obtaining the prestigious belt that has been held by fighters such as Ricardo “Finito” López, the legendary Mexican boxer, probably the most popular fighter who has had that title.
Menayothin, 33, has defended his crown more than 10 times and has shpae an impressive 53-0 record, becoming one of Thailand’s biggest stars. Now he plans to extend his reign in the United States with Golden Boy.
“I am delighted that Golden Boy gives me the opportunity for my name to expand in other countries,” said Menayothin.
“I felt excited when I learned that I would fight outside my country. It will be the first time that I will fight in another country. Not only will I prove myself but I will make the world know me and recognize me as the best champion in my division . “
