Welterweight contender Yordenis Ugas (23-4, 11 KOs) held a public workout prior to the upcoming showdown with Omar Figueroa Jr. (28-0-1, 19 KOs) which will be part of Pacquiao vs. Thurman, Premier Boxing Champions card to be transmitted , on FOX Sports from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
At the end of the session Yordenis said:
“This is a great opportunity for me to defeat another unbeaten fighter. Omar Figueroa Jr. is a hungry young fighter who has never tasted defeat. But all that will change on July 20. He has never been with an experienced fighter like me. My style will beat him he wont even see my fast hands on the night of the fight!
“I cannot ask for a better situation at this stage of my career, to be fighting on FOX PPV, in the same card as one of the best fighters as Pacquiao, is a dream come true. I’m really blessed to be fighting a WBC eliminator. Such a great scenario and I’m going to give the fans a night to remember. The fans deserve a war and that’s what I’m going to give them.
“Defeating undefeated Figueroa will take me back to a world title fight. This is just the kind of fight I need to win if I’m going to become a world champion, and I’m more determined than ever to prove it. Then I want my rematch with Shawn Porter.”
