Mexican fighter Felipe “Gallito” Orucuta left the hospital today after almost 50 days, to continue his recovery and rehabilitation at home.
Felipe suffered a brain injury after his fight against Jonathan Rodríguez on June 7th in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo, when he collapsed in the ring at the end of the fight. He was treated at the arena and immediately transferred to Michoacán Hospital, Uruapan where he underwent an operation and was under observation for several weeks. He was subsequently transferred to his home in the State of Mexico, where he remained for one day and was then transferred to the María José Roma Hospital in Mexico City.
His brother Jesus commented that the “Gallito” has shown important signs of improvement this week and that he will continue with the rehabilitation plus recovery at home.
The family thanks the attention received by his brother at the María José Roma Hospital, the support of the World Boxing Council, Promociones del Pueblo, Dr. Fausto Daniel García, the Telmex Foundation, Miguel Torruco and Eddy Reynoso.
