Tanaka Decisions Taguchi to Retain WBO 112 Belt Saturday in Gifu

In a hard-fought twelve rounder all-Japanese affair that unfolded mostly in the center of the ring, local Gifu star fighter 3-division world champion Kosei Tanaka (13-0, 7 KO’s) scored a unanimous decision victory over taller and experienced former world titlist Ryoichi Taguchi (27-4-2, 12 KO’s) to retain for a second time his WBO Flyweight World Title today Saturday, March, 16 at Memorial Center l in Gifu, Central Japan.
The two warriors engaged in quality blow-by-blow action from the sound of the first bell and never let go.
Officials scores were 119-109 and 117-111 (twice) in favor of the talented 23-year-old Kosei Tanaka, one of the hottest new generation boxers in Japan
