South African fighter Simphiwe Khonco (19-5; 7 Ko´s), will challenge the minimum champion of the World Boxing Council, Thai Wanheng Menayothin.
Simphiwe is making a great preparation for this important fight, because to dispute the green and gold crown of the WBC is something that has been looking forward to for a long time.
Khonco, who is mandatory challenger of the division, has won his last bouts against Siyabongo Siyo, Nkosinathi Joyi, Lito Dante and Toto Landero. His most recent fight against Joey Canoy ended a “NO CONTEST” due to a clash of heads.
For his part, the 33-year-old Thai champion has a 53-0 record, including 8 Ko´s and has made 11 successful WBC defenses since winning it in November 2014
