Maciej Sulecki steps into the ring tonight against hometown hero Gabriel Rosado a 7-1 favorite. As the bell rings for round 1, you can see a big size difference, Rosado is definitely the smaller man and looks like he will have an uphill battle against Sulecki tonight.
Sulecki knocks Rosado down in the first round with a powerful overhand right. Rosado does his best to shake it of and keep fighting as he takes a lot of punishment in the first round. Rosado can’t seem to get out of the way of Sulecki strong and quick right hand. Rosado takes more punishment in the second as Sulecki seems to not only be the bigger more powerful man, but seems to be very sharp and fresh.
Rosado digging down deep and doing his best to hang in the fight doing anything he can to throw Sulecki of his game.
Rosado starting to box well in the seventh round landing a few very good shots on Sulecki. Rosado brawling with Sulecki in the 8th knowing he’s behind on the scorecards and goes down again against the bigger and stronger Sulecki.
Round 9. Rosado Shocks the Fans and lands a huge overhand right to knockdown Sulecki. Unbelievable! Sulecki gets up and Rosado hurts him again, the referee about to stop the fight as Sulecki is badly hurt and Sulecki gets saved by the bell. Rosado has a terrific 10th round but it was a little to late.
Even in Rosado losing tonight on the Scorecards, Rosado stands tall and he has made so many proud. Rosado is a true Warrior.
Sulecki getting the win sets-up a possible showdown this summer with undefeated WBO Middleweight Champion Demetrius Andrade.
The Rosado vs Sulecki Fight is reminiscent to Rosado’s Career -a roller coaster ride. Rosado took on the biggest names and toughest boxers in this era. Not only did Gabe take many fights on short notice, but had a career with one of the hardest scheduled in recent memory. Some of the big names he fought: The Dog Alfredo Angulo, Lion Jermell Charlo, Big Power David Lemieux, The Great Gennady Golovkin, J’ Leon Love, Peter Quillin, Kassim Ouma, Willie Monroe Jr., Martin Murray, Jesus Soto Karass, Joshua Clottey and many other top boxers.
Now at age of 33, you wouldn’t expect Rosado to take an easy fight. On November 17, 2018 in Kansas, boxing observers thought Gabe won a one sided decision against tough and brash Luis Arias (18-1-1)who only had one defeat at the hands of IBF Middleweight Champion Daniel Jacobs, but the fight was surprisingly ruled a draw.
Rosado has done almost everything there is to do in boxing. He has fought the best boxers on the planet, he even fought in Big Knockout Boxing (a start-up type of boxing with Tweaks, such as making the ring smaller, to increase the percentage of a knockout and dishing your opponent heavier damage while taking more damage as well) and Gabe is part of everybody’s favorite boxing movie; The Rocky Series. Gabe played a boxer that took on Apollo Creed‘s son in the 2015 Movie Greed.
