12 x 3 minutes rounds:
Heavyweight Division:
Joseph Parker vs. Alex Leapai
Parker comes to the ring wearing beautiful white trunks with gold trim and Leapai is wearing red trunks with blue trim along with matching shoes.
Both men know what’s at stake for this fight and they are determined to win. The winner will be up for a big money main event fight.
Round 1.
Parker comes out pumping the jab. Parker hurts Leapai in the blue corner and unloads a barrage of shots, but the tough Australian survives the round and also has some good moments of his own.
Round 2.
Parker hits Leapai with everything he has and Leapai isn’t budging. Leapai throwing a looping monster right that misses and zaps all
his energy as well as these two giants end the round holding.
Round 3.
And now Parker lands a low blow and the referee calls time. Leapai does not take advantage of the rest period and wants to continue to fight. Both men landing uppercuts but Parker simply landing a lot more and scoring more. Parker also doing terrific body work. Boy is Leapai tough.
Round 4.
Parker lands a barrage of right hands that stun Leapai. Leapai coming forward with the jab as Parker keeps throwing and landing. Leapai does some great work at the closing seconds of the round landing a big right and left on Parker.
Round 5.
Parker doing a terrific job of boxing, using combinations and staying on the outside. After Parker lands his right, he’s not jumping in and leaving himself open for Leapai’s power like Joshua did against Ruiz. I think lots of big Heavyweights learned from Joshua’s mistakes.
Round 6.
Another round in the bank for Parker as he continues to work the body and the head. Leapai’s looping right is getting slower and slower.
Round 7.
Parker really taking it to Leapai now and eating a bit of leather for his efforts. Parker eager to put Leapai away.
Round 8.
Parker & Leapai are doing their best impression of Errol Spence Jr. Vs Mikey Garcia. Not the most entertaining fight, but very interesting fight.
Round 9.
Slow round as both men are completely exhausted.
Round 10.
Referee Ricky Gonzalez decides that he doesn’t want to work anymore and stops the fight for some reason.
Winner: Joseph Parker By TKO, 10 Round
