Resolute WBC female super flyweight champion Guadalupe Martinez says she`s one hundred and ten percent ready for her next itle defense this Saturday at the Regional Center for Culture, Arts and Sports in Las Americas in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, against WBC Diamond champion, Yessica “Kika” Chávez.
“There`s nothing to elaborate. We know perfectly well that we are facing a great champion, who has a complicated style. So we have an already defined boxing strategy, which involves constantly going forward. That`s precisely what won the championship and so it`ll be defended just that way. I cannot give any space at all to “Kika.” We will ruthlessly cut all exits in our boxing style,” calmly, but determinedly stated “The Gate Keeper”, significantly adding:
“The most complicated defense awaits us because of the type and caliber of opponent and her boxing. We`ve already thoroughly and meticulously analyzed this with my work team. We`ve already seen the boxing of” Kika “and it she takes advantage of her opponents` mistakes. So throughout this preparation we`ve devoted special emphasis to defence, in order to avoid making any mistakes.”
To adapt rather than dovetail, to the ornate style of boxing of her high quality opponent, hawkish Guadalupe and her team very carefully selected sparring partners. In this this case one of the key hard cases, was also world champion Anabel “Avispa” Ortiz, who has a style very similar to Kika Chávez.
Martinez and Chávez star in the card that features Pueblo Promotions in association with Cancun Boxing and Boxing Time. They respectfully stood side by side at Mexico City`s Food Market today, as part of an all star lineup for the presentation of the Maya Belt for the Canelo Vs Jacobs fight on May 4th. This Saturday it`ll be face to face and then intense toe to toe hand to hand combat for a classic of women`s boxing!
