As we get ready for another exciting terrific week of Fights, we are heartbroken. Last week we lost one of the Greatest of All Time in Pernell Whitaker at the young age of 55. Today we learn that the Undefeated 140 Pound Russian Warrior Maxim Dadashev who fought fellow undefeated boxer Subriel Matias this past Friday night has passed away.
Maxim Dadashev RIP Champ.
In a Battle of 140 undefeated champions, Saturday night’s fight between Maurice Mighty Mo Hooker and Jose Ramirez is going to be better then a world class Orchestra:
The fight features two of boxing most talented and respectful boxers in the game today.
Both Champions have hurtles to overcome as they step into the Squared Circle this Saturday night. Hooker will have to drain his huge physique down to 140 pounds somehow and Ramirez will have to find a way to get some more speed from his body.
I have had the honor of following and watching these two champions young careers and have enjoyed every minute of it. When you see a young man with outstanding potential and talent become a champion and maintain that terrific character along the long road, how can you pick against them, how can you not root for them. This is the case with both these fine men/ warriors and boxers.
What Have you Done For Me Lately:
Unfortunately, Boxing is about the now, not your victory from 5 years ago.
After beating Terry Flanagan across the pond and earning the WBO Jr. Welterweight Championship, Maurice Hooker has his coming out party by knocking out rising – fast superstar Alex Saucedo in 7 rounds in Saucedo’s hometown of Oklahoma City. Then back is March, Mighty Mo gave the tough /game Mikkel LesPierre a 12 round beating in upstate New York at the Turning Stone Casino on the Bivol/ Smith Jr. undercard. Mighty Mo truly coming into his own.
In March 2018, José Ramirez earned the WBC Jr. Welterweight Championship title by beating Amir Imam with a Unanimous Decision. Jose then fought undefeated tough Antonio Orozco in a fight of the year candidate and gave Orozco more leather then he received earning another Unanimous Decision.
In Ramirez’s last fight back in February, Ramirez was able to scrape by Jose Zepeda earning a majority decision.
Ramirez’s last three fight have gone the full 12 rounds. Ramirez’s exciting fight style reminds me a bit of Japan’s top P4P flyweight Champion Kosei Tanaka. Tanaka is always involved in tremendously exciting fights that he wins, but takes quite a bit of damage.
There is only one Manny Pacquiao who over 20 years of fighting wars and at the age of 40 still fights like a teenage. Unless Ramirez is going to be mentioned in the same breath at PAC, he needs to find a way to have more movement and not eat leather all day. I don’t care how tough you are, getting hit with punches all day will breakdown any human.
My Final Prediction:
Hooker using his reach will make the fight very similar to his last one in upstate New York and win by UD.
My Predicted Score 116-112 Mighty Mo Hooker
Good luck to both Champions and May the best Man Win!!!
