Mexican Jaime Munguía blitzed reluctant Ghanaian Patrick Allotey in four rounds winning a Maya Belt, in the Golden Boy Promotions celebrations of the Mexican National Holidays, at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
With the legendary Erik Morales in his corner as a new coach, sharper and more focused super welterweight Munguía unleashed a “Terrible” wave of total dominance over smaller Allotey,
After two rounds which proved a running race, Munguía landed hard with a cluster of body punches and with a powerful left hook to the head, sending the hitherto elusive Ghanaian to the canvas. Seconds before the bell Munguía threw an even more powerful left hook to the head which had Allotey patting the canvass all over again.
after receiving and absorbing more crunching and sapping body attacks Allotey went down for a respite, then dejectedly traipsed to his corner and called it a night.
Munguía holds aloft the commemorative Maya II belt of the World Boxing Council, after inflicting a one way traffic drubbing. He`s now musing on moving up to middleweight.
