Two Mammoth Heavyweights Ready to Battle:
Kubrat Pulev 250 lbs vs. Bogdan Dinu 240 lbs. live on ESPN.
As the Fighters take there long ring walk you can’t help but wonder if Dinu is being served up as an appetizer for Pulev. Dinu in the solid black trunks and Pulev in the solid red trunks. Both boxers looking in prime and ready condition to battle: And here we go
Round 1. Pulev looking good throwing good, hard, crisp punches as he takes round one.
Round 2. & 3. Is this a new improved version of Dinu? He suddenly looks good, throwing punches and mixing up his combinations like a middleweight. Makes me wonder if Jarrell Miller might be better when most give him credit for.
Round 4. Dinu really letting his hands go as Pulev’s ring walk confidence is starting to deteriorate. Dinu lands some nice shots that bloody Pulev bad. Pulev left eye is cut real bad as blood gushes all over the fighters bodies. Dinu appears spent after the first 90 second and here comes Pulev. Pulev throwing hard shots now as Dinu is on the run. Great round for both fighters. This is getting real good.
Round 5. Very soppy round as Dinu seems to either be tired or scared- he’s a desperate fighter right now. Pulev’s punches still have power on them.
Round 6. Pulev applying pressure and easily wins the round. Yes, Pulev has a bad cut, but it’s not in a place that is stopping him from seeing or fighting. Even though the cut is deep, it’s not in danger of stopping the fight. I don’t know why the ESPN broadcast team are making the whole evening about the cut as opposed to the fight. This Is Boxing- we have seen blood before.
Round 7. Pulev pouring it on as Dinu goes down. Good job by the referee to acknowledge that Dinu got hit behind the head while he was down (most Refs wouldn’t do that). I think Dinu was hoping for the fight to end, but since the referee gave him ample time to recover, he has no choice but to continue. Pulev pouring it on again with plenty of time left in the round. Fight will probably not see another round. Dinu goes down again from a soft shot this time and surprisingly gets up at the count of nine. Dinu is determined to go out on his shield. And he does, Dinu goes down hard for the third time in round 7 and the fight is over.
Dinu and Pulev earned there money tonight.
Congratulations Kubrat Pulev on defending your spot in the world rankings and set up a big money fight.

In his featherweight debut, former world champion Jessie Magdaleno returned to the winning route by scoring a unanimous decision victory over former world titleholder Rico Ramos to capture the WBC USNBC Featherweight title. This was Magdaleno’s first fight since losing his WBO super bantamweight world title in April of 2018 against Isaac Dogboe.
“I came back from a long layoff and felt great against a tough opponent and a former world champion”, said Magdaleno. “Ramos is a great fighter, he was a former world champion for a reason, but tonight only one of us could come out victorious, and that was me. Now I’m going to sit down with my team, go back to the drawing board, and see what I have to keep working on to become a world champion once again”.
