Official Joshua vs Ruiz ll Set for December 7 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia:
Boxing Action Magazine has reports coming in that Matchroom Boxing has finally decided the neutral ground for Ruiz vs Joshua ll will be in the hot desert of the oil rich country of Saudi Arabia.
Andy Ruiz Jr. shocked the Madison Square Garden crowd in New York On June 1st, by stopping the undefeated heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in seven rounds. Anthony Joshua got up after his fourth knock down but the referee stopped the fight believing Joshua was not prepared to continue. Billed as the fight of the year and card of the year, news broke around the planet and Andy Ruiz Jr. became an instant star.
The class that both boxers showed after the prize fight is what boxing and sports is all about.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seems to be willing to give a blank check to host the spectacle that is expected to be the biggest prize fight of all time only second to Mayweather vs Pacquiao which produced a whopping $700 million.
It is reported that Anthony Joshua will clear at least $100 million for the fight once all the revenue is accounted for.
The Kingdom has set a precedent of spending cartoon type money to get major events. WWE has had a few shows recently in Saudi Arabia. The Stars of WWE got record paychecks for participating and everything from Hotels, food and hospitality were reported to be second to none.
An official press conference is slated for Monday in London.
