World-ranked Filipino Jonas “El Zorro” Sultan (15-4, 9 KO’s) of the famed ALA Gym in Cebu, collides against tall, confusing southpaw Athenkosi Dumezweni (11-2, 8 KO’s) of Eastern Cape, South Africa for the vacant WBC Silver Super Flyweight title Sunday, April 28, at the Orient Theater in the seaside City of East London in South Africa.
The winner not only claims the shining green WBC Silver strap, but also elevates his rating in the hot super flyweight (115 pounds) division where the newly crowned WBC world champion is talented Mexican Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada (39-3, 26 KO’s).
According to the fight promoter, Xaba Promotions, the exciting Sultan vs Dumezweni clash for the WBC Silver Belt is in celebration of 25 years of Freedom and Democracy in South Africa as the old repressive system of Apartheid in South ended on 27 April 1994.
“We celebrate South African Freedom through Great Boxing,” says Xaba Promotions.
The rumble will be taped by South African TV channel SuperSport (SuperSport.com) to be shown in Africa on delay telecast on Monday at 2 PM.
