Jermaine Franklin won his second consecutive Showtime-featured bout, but the Saginaw heavyweight didn’t get the knockout or unanimous decision he wanted.
Franklin, 25, earned a 2-1 split decision over Jerry Forrest Friday as the featured bout on Showtime’s Shobox: The New Generation.
The Saginaw fighter improved to 19-0 with 97-93 scores from two judges. A third judge gave the fight to Forrest, 96-94. Forrest fell to 25-3.
Unofficial Showtime stats showed Forrest landing more punches, 121-107, and more jabs, 45-13. It also showed Franklin landing more power punches, 94-76.
