Not all sanctioning bodies are created equal.
While the WBC is one of the most respected Sanctioning Bodies in Boxing, many feel that they are also in Canelo Alvarez’s back pocket.
Sometimes it seems that the WBC lets Alvarez doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants. ( They actually do, that’s what the new franchise Belt does – complete freedom)
The IBF today at 3pm EST surprisingly hit the refresh button and got a new found respect from many in the boxing world. The IBF stood up to the deep pockets of Golden Boy and Stripped the Great Mexican Boxer, Canelo Alvarez of his Middleweight Championship Belt giving fans a few found respect and probably WWE a new story line.

Canelo asking Everyone Out To The Dance
The biggest start in boxing is having a hard time finding someone to fight him for some reason.
Canelo Alvarez signed A lucrative five year / 11 fight / $300 million plus deal with the new powerhouse player in the boxing game – DAZN. DAZN then opened the check book and sign GGG to a monster deal as well in hopes of staging a fight between the two mega boxing stars. Canelo for his own reasons is refusing to fight Triple G and made it clear to DAZN that he won’t be told what to do.
Golden Boy went into emergency PR prevention to make Canelo seem like he’s fighting the best and not avoiding GGG.
To promote confusion, Golden Boy mentioned fighters in five weight classes: 147 Spence, 154 Munguia, 160, 168 Callum Smith and 175 Sergey Kovalev.
Errol Spence Junior passed on the fight as he was being squeezed and finally announced the fight with Shawn Porter. Munguia was mentioned as an opponent, but DAZN would not approve the fight. Golden Boy went after Kovalev, but again were tight with the wallet and Kovalev decided to take a home country fight. GB mentioned Callum Smith in the Press to impress, but never reached out to his team.
If Canelo is serious about fighting at 175, Bivol is calling him out and is willing to take the low offer GB is waving at potential Canelo opponents.
The latest dance partner to reject Canelo’s cheap advances- Sergiy Derevyanchenko. That rejection also got Canelo stripped of the IBF Middleweight Title as well.
Canelo already lost his September 14th Mexican Holiday date, now his IBF title and now is quickly chasing on hot pursuit Demetrius Andrade.
All Canelo had to do is face GGG, he would have cleared the most money, made all boxing fans happy, kept his titles and could have cemented himself as the best middleweight on the planet.
Canelo needs a Dance partner and all the singles are starting to mingle. Golden Boy’s lines ($ offered) aren’t working on these sophisticated singles (boxers available to fight).
With the IBF Title now vacant, Gennady Golovkin vs. Sergiy Derevyanchenko at MSG for the Championship seems very likely.
