World Boxing Council superwelter champion Tony “Superbad” Harrison; and former world champion Jermell Charlo, continued their verbal barbs, at a heated press conference Los Angeles.
This is part of the build up to their rematch on Saturday, December 21 at the FOX Main Event PBC Fight Night and FOX Sports, from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California.
Harrison vs. Charlo II was scheduled for June 23, but was postponed when Harrison suffered ligament tears after spraining one of his ankles while training.
Now that he is fully recovered, Harrison is ready to defend his legacy, while Charlo claims to be ready to recover the WBC belt.
This is what both warriors said at the press conference:
Tony Harrison: “I could beat him anywhere, it doesn’t matter. We could fight in this room right now. Nothing will change … his words have definitely caused a fuel burn in me now. He speaks loudly, but he won’t do nothing. He doesn’t have the skills to beat me.”
Jermell Charlo: “I know I won that first fight and this time I am going to do things in a more dominant way. I will be overwhelming and fierce. It will be the best Jermell Charlo ever. My plan is to show everyone that Tony Harrison is not at my level.”
