Triple G has his own date at Madison Square Garden this Saturday against Steve Rolls looking to succeed where AJ failed.
Anthony Joshua suffered a crushing loss last Saturday when it was supposed to be his grand U.S. debut.
Instead, he lost all of his world titles to massive underdog Andy Ruiz Jr and it has left the boxing world in shock.
In fairness to AJ, he has blamed nobody but himself and has denied all rumours surrounding his health and mental state going into the fight at Madison Square Garden.
Everyone has had an opinion on the fight and the latest is Gennady Golovkin.
Talking to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Triple G talked about how Joshua didn’t show Ruiz the proper respect he deserved.
But what did AJ do wrong?
“Everything… come on guys, everything! Welcome to the United States,” Golovkin said.
Did Joshua underestimate Ruiz Jr? The common consensus has been yes and Golovkin is no different.
“Probably, yes. He looks like a superstar he’s come to the United States… this is a very serious business. This is boxing. You can’t disrespect your opponent. Andy Ruiz is a good fighter and, come on, this is a dangerous fight.”
Golovkin has his own fight at Madison Square Garden this weekend as he takes on Steve Rolls. The Kazakh middleweight believes a win here will get him to a trilogy fight with Saul Alvarez.
