The WBC USNBC Cruiserweight title belt will be contested on Friday June 7th between Pittsburgh’s Lyubomyr “The Demolition Man” Pinchuk 10-1 (7KOs) and Taylor “Machine Gun” Duerr 9-0-1(7KOs) of Detroit. This fight will take place as the 10 round main event at the Motor City Casino in Detroit. The promoter is Carlos Llinas Productions and a 10-bout card is scheduled.
Pinchuk is the current ABF Cruiserweight Champion and has defended the belt twice after beating Lamont Capers last August. This belt will not be on the line in Detroit.
Pinchuk had 250 amateur fights in the Ukraine and was a two-time Ukrainian National Champion. When he was 18 he sent an email and social media blast to the States in hopes of someone responding and would bring him over to make him a world champion. After initial apprehension Michael McSorley of Pittsburgh took the chance because of the boxers persistence. Now 22 years old he has had 11 professional fights since coming to Pittsburgh a little over two years ago.
“We appreciate this opportunity in Detroit. Lyubomyr has had a great camp and we had amazing sparring partners, including a lot of rounds with ‘USS’ Steve Cunningham. Lyubo is a terminator that will not be stopped,” said trainer McSorley.
