2019 has started Ref Hot and with summer fast approaching, there’s no relief in sight.
January 13th: A focused and determined Caleb Plant outboxed and outworked the Super Middleweight Champion of the World and dethroned Jose Uzcategui. It was a terrific fight and a great way to kick of 2019 with the best fighting the best. Also Guillermo Rigondeaux returned to the ring in impressive fashion stopping Giovanni Delgado in the first round after suffering his first defeat last year to Vasyl Lomachenko.
January 18th: Promoter Mr. Eddie Hearns MatchRoom Boxing in conjunction with a host of Promoters put on a great evening of Boxing at Madison Square Garden. The shocker of the evening was Jorge Linares losing by first Round TKO to Pablo Cano. With the big win, Cano put himself in the lead for a future fight with WBO Champion Mighty Mo. Chris Algeria got gifted a unanimous decision win over Danny Gonzalez. Gonzalez chased Algeria around the ring all night long landing some good shots as Algieri ran and held the entire night. Algeria is either weight drained or completely shot with absolutely no force behind his punches.
January 19th: Manny Pacquiao peppered Adrian “The Problem” Broner with punches and won an easy decision as PacMan returned to Las Vegas opening the Door for PAC/Mayweather II.
January 26th: Keith Thurman made his anticipated return against Josesito López.
January 26: Jesus Rojas lost his WBA Featherweight Title in a Fight of the year against China’s Xu Can. Jamie Munguia and Takeshi Inoue has a good scrap as Munguia retained his title. Munguia is a good young talent but isn’t ready for the top middleweight Boxers yet.
