Carson, CA – Nigerian heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba (9-0, 8 KOs) disposed of veteran Amir Mansour (23-4-1, 16 KOs) fairly easily at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson California on the Shawn Porter v. Yordenis Ugas undercard.
Mansour went down twice in the first round and seemed unsteady on his feet in the second round, causing Referee Thomas Taylor to stop the bout before the start of the 3rd round. The 24 year old Ajabga is quite a physical specimen at 6ft 5in and 240 lbs. Prior to this matchup, he had 5 straight 1st round knockouts and appears to have real power in both hands.
Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, who was calling the fight on Fox Sports, had high praise for Ajagba and believes he has a bright future. He is a late starter in the sport of boxing and only has accumulated 14 rounds of professional experience in his 9 rounds, but he appears to be someone boxing fans need to keep an eye out for in the near future.
