Early Results from The Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles:
Anthony Sims Jr. vs Vaughn Alexander:
These two fighters battle at in the super middleweight division and can’t wait to fight.
Sims Jr. coming out in white trunks with a red and blue stripe on the side along with matching tassels on his ring shoes. Alexander wearing black trunks with red trim.
After the first three rounds, Sims looks to have talent, but his record and ego is a little overblown. He is trying to acting like Roy Jones Jr., but he is nowhere near that level. Interesting to see the progression of this fight as the smaller Alexander is very tough.
Rounds 4 & 5. I like the aggression from Alexander, he didn’t just come for a paycheck. I don’t like the way Sims is reacting to the tough challenger.
Round 6. Hit going to layout me but Vaughn Alexander reminds me a bit of a young Evander Holyfield. Alexander won the round.
Rounds 7-10. Not the type of high level boxing I’d like to see, but I’ll tell you Alexander gave it everything he could.
You get the feeling from the one sided score cards so far here this evening that the judges are a bit under pressure to make sure that the favorite wins.
Anthony The Magician Sims Junior improves his undefeated record to 19-0.
Winner by UD Anthony Sims Jr.
Diego Pacheco vs. Guillermo Maldonado:
Pacheco coming in two pounds over the middleweight limit of 160 pounds. Pacheco wearing beautiful blue with silver trunks with the American flag on one side and the Mexican flag on the opposite side. Maldonado coming in with black trunks with white trim.
18 year old Pacheco improves to 3-0 with a quick dominate performance, he was landing big shots from the opening round and Maldonado went down hard from a good accumulation of shots. Maldonado is Bady Hurt and doesn’t know where he is.
Winner 1st Round KO Diego Pacheco
Shakhram Giyasov vs Emmanuel Taylor:
Excellent opening bout to an action packed card as these two fighters battled all 10 rounds in the 140 pound division. Both fighters coming out with matching black and gold trunks. Very difficult fight to score, for example, in the 8th round Taylor dominated the first half of the round landing big heavy shots and in the second half, Taylor stopping punching and Giyasov probably stole the round. The fight was close but the judges scored it going away for the Uzbekistan Olympic Gold Medalist and favorite, the Wonder Boy -Shakhram Giyasov.
Winner by UD Shakhram Giyasov
