World Boxing Council welterweight champion Shawn Porter is working with Demetrius Andrade for his unification fight on September 28 against Errol Spence Jr.
Andrade, two divisions above Porter, and 1.85 cm tall, is a very complete and strong sparring partner, who will help him Shawn deal with the height and power of Spence Jr.
“I spoke with Demetrius in May or June, and he said he would be here to support me. He and I have known each other since we were 16. We have a fantastic relationship. We are like brothers.
“He knows that I am facing a very important and complicated fight and he wants to be there to support me. He will meet us in Washington, D.C. over the next two weeks, and we will train together with several sparring sessions. ”
Porter has already sparred during this training camp against a bigger and stronger fighter, former WBC super middleweight champion David Benavidez, who will fight Anthony Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs), of Flint, Michigan, for the WBC title on that same card.
