World-ranked Filipino featherweight Dave Peñalosa gets the break and world-wide exposure that he and his team have been aiming at.
The unbeaten 28-year-old Dave — son of former world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa — has been slated to star in the undercard of the show headlined by two-time world champion Amir “King” Khan against Indian star Neeraj Goyat for the WBC “Pearl” Welterweight Title, a major boxing event set for Friday, July 12, at the King Abdullah Sports Stadium, in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
It’s the golden chance for Dave Peñalosa (15-0, 11 KO’s) to showcase his skills, power and boxing talent before an amazing audience that includes Prime Ministers and Saudi royalty.
The opponent for “The Hunter” is still on the works, but Dave’s participation in the Saudi boxing event is 100% confirmed, according to Dave’s promoter and uncle, two division world champion Gerry Penalosa.
“We are very happy about this great opportunity for my nephew Dave,” says the ever popular Gerry.
“We know that he will do his very best. Dave knows that he has our love and support forever.”
Dave Peñalosa, born in Cebu City, is trained by his father, two-time world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa, a beloved and much-appreciated figure in Filipino boxing.
The show July 12in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is a production of Super Boxing League (SBL), endorsed by the Saudi Sports Authority.
