September 8th at the Barclays Center, Brooklyn, NY on Showtime:
Danny Swift Garcia against Shawn Showtime Porter this Saturday at the Barclays.
Last time I was at the Barclays Center I saw Deontay Wilder against King Kong and it was a fantastic fight with a great atmosphere. This is going to be a terrific fight with two young lions who would die in the ring before they quit going at it toe to toe. Stakes are high in this fight and both there fathers are their trainers and both fighters do a great job of listening to there Dads.
Make no mistake about it Danny Garcia is a more talented and favored fighter in this fight. Porter is going to be under a lot of pressure to set the tone early in this fight he’s either going to have to land something big or really set the pace by cutting the ring off as he will be the aggressor. The first round isn’t so important as that’s generally a feel out round. Rounds 2,3 and 4 are critical for Porter to win. If Portor can’t win the earlier rounds Garcia is going to have a field day with him and win on the judges score cards big. I think Keith Thurman set a blueprint for beating Garcia by getting off to a super fast start, not to say that that’s the only way to be Garcia but Porter will have to because he’s just too one-dimensional.
I think most experts would think that Porter will need a knockout to win but I would say that if a knockout does happen, Garcia will most likely do it. Garcia has big power and is really looking to prove something. Big respect for these two warriors, enjoy the fight!
