Heavyweights Carlos Takam (36-5-1) clashed with Graig Lewis (14-3-1) in the main event of Star Boxings Catskills, NY Card.
The action is underway and immediately we see Lewis beautifully using his height and reach advantage trying to keep Takam on the end of his jab. Lewis fighting tall as Takam is working hard – bobbing and weaving trying to get inside in order to throw his power shots.
Round 3.
Takam doing a good job now of using his own jab and not much resistance is going back from Lewis. Takam finding a home for his short power left hook throughout the entire round. Lewis taking the hook well as some Heavyweights would have been out on there feet already.
Round 4.
Takam boxing well and being the busier fighter at the moment. Lewis is a bit on his wheels right now looking to maybe counter with one shot at a time.
Round 5.
Best round of the fight as these two Heavyweights are fighting at a very fast pace. Both guys are throwing some good shots and having there moments. Takam is moving well but seems to keep his chin wide open for a counter shot and Lewis is starting to take advantage by countering well with rights, lefts and uppercuts. Thou Lewis is having his moments, Takam is winning these rounds.
Round 6.
Another dominate round for the Takam, I don’t know if Lewis is playing possum, but he seems
To have a lot of reserves in the tank.
Round 7.
Clash of heads in the middle of the round leaves Lewis with a big gash on his left eye. Takam wanting the KO so bad is chasing Lewis around the ring and swinging wildly. Boy can Lewis take a Punch! At this point, I don’t think Takam has enough power left to stop Lewis.
Round 8.
Takam with some excellent work in the round as the action stops to check on Lewis’s eye. Lewis trying to make some noise, but both guys are very tired. The pace of this Heavyweight Fight has been of the charts, they are fighting as if they are middleweights.
Round 9.
Another good round for a Takam. Takam doing a good job cutting the ring off and getting Lewis up on the ropes. Lewis is a very slick and talented boxer, I’m not sure if Takam has the power or skill to finish off a guy like Lewis.
Round 10.
We go into the final round and Takam lands another low blow. Takam lands a great 1-2 finishing with a big right hand that hurts Lewis.
Excellent / entertaining fight as the crowd loved what they saw. This might have been a case of Takam trying to do to much to impressive his new promoter and the crowd on hand.
