The almost 39 year old Mauricio Herrera looking to make one last stand as he fights young up and comer 21 year old Vergil Ortiz. This is only Herrera’s second fight in 19 months. Herrera lost his last fight to Sadam Ali in December 2018.
Vergil Ortiz Jr. is young and doesn’t have the experience of Herrera, but he is naturally the much bigger man. If this isn’t a set-up I don’t know what is.
Herrera was holding his own until the closing seconds of the 2nd round. Ortiz land a huge right hand on the button and knocks Herrera Down.
Round 3. Ortiz comes forward and really tags Herrera With a vicious right hand punch that knocks Herrera down and stops the fight.
Young knockout artist Vergil Ortiz Jr. improves to 13-0 with 13 Knockouts.

Joseph Diaz Jr. vs. Freddy Fonseca
VACANT WBA GOLD SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE – 12 ROUNDS
Joseph Diaz Jr. 28-1 (14 KOs) vs. Freddy Fonseca 26-2-1 (17 KOs)
After two rounds, Jo Jo Diaz looking good, letting his hands ago and looking good at 130 pounds.
Big 6th round for Diaz, doing heavy damage and knocking Fonseca down. Diaz lands a huge left hook at the bell. This fight should be over very soon as Diaz is simply dominating this fight.
Fonseca’s corner throws in the towel in the middle of the 7th round.

Lamont Roach Jr. vs Jonathan Oquendo
For the WBO INTERNATIONAL & NABO SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT TITLES – 10 ROUNDS
Lamont Roach Jr. 18-0-1 (7 KOs) vs. Jonathan Oquendo 30-5 (19 KOs)
Roach wins a unanimous decision beating a game Oquendo. Roach improves to 19-0 and now carries two WBO titles.

Sadam Ali vs Anthony Young (Welterweights)
Two very good evenly matched welters go toe-to-toe in the ring. Underdog Young ate some leather in the first half of the third round and then started unloading his own shots. Ali took a bunch of shots as referee Robert Byrd asked Ali to get busy. Young landed a right hook to the body and then a big left to the head making referee Byrd stop the fight. Young was a 13-1 underdog and Ali seems to have lost a few steps.
Winner: Anthony Juice Young
John Ryder vs Bilal Akkawy
For WBA Super Middleweight Championship:
Ryder takes care of business by handing a big right hook in the third round knocking Akkawy down. Ryder remains relentless knocking Akkawy down a second time and almost a third before referee Jay Nady stopped the bout in the 3rd round.
