The second World Boxing Super Series tournament in the cruiserweight division continues with major bouts, namely the semi final between Mairis Briedis (25-1, 18 KOs) and Krzysztof Glowacki (31-1, 19 KOs) on June 15 in Riga, Latvia.
As a plus for this important fight, the vacant World Boxing Council cruiserweight title will be at stake when this pair of warriors step into the ring Arena.
The WBC recognized Oleksander Usyk, with the status of champion in recess, allowing him to recover from his recent injury and supporting him in his attempt to compete in the heavyweight division, so accordingly, the cruiserweight title is vacant.
Mairis, who is a prominent policeman in Riga, said: “The WBC World Championship title is one more motivation for me. I really want to return to the family of the WBC green and gold champions. ”
Glowacki says: “I am extremely delighted that my fight against Briedis has become even more important for the prestigious WBC belt.
