The Bronze Bomber told his rival last year: “I’m going to make sure he brings his son up on the stage to look the man in the eye that’s gonna cripple his daddy!
“I want them to look me in my eye! Because Breazeale’s whole story is so wrong, so twisted. He want people to feel sorry for him or whatever but it’s not gonna happen.”
But their rivalry stretches back to 2017 when Wilder made the fifth successful defence of his WBC title knocking out Gerald Washington in five rounds in his home of Alabama.
Breazeale competed on the undercard knocking out Izuagbe Ugonoh also in five rounds – but later that night a brawl broke out.
It involved Wilder’s younger brother Marcellos, now a 3-1 pro, and Breazeale himself so bad police were called, though no arrests made.
With the fight just a week away Breazeale, who was dominated by Anthony Joshua in seven rounds three years ago, vowed to make Wilder “pay” for that incident in Alabama and continuing to involve his son in the feud.
Breazeale said: “I can’t wait to get my hands on him. What he did in Alabama in front of my family, I can never forgive him for nor will I ever forget.
“Even after the incident in Alabama, he continued to bring my sons into it.
“I intend to make him pay come May 18th and shut him up once and for all.
“One of the reasons I moved camp was to ensure I was in the best shape possible and I’m already there.
“Virgil has prepared me well and 10 days can’t come fast enough.”
