Dmitry Bivol vs Joe Smith Jr., Smith came into the fight in the best shape of his life determined to rip the Light Heavyweight Belt from the highly favored champion – Dmitry Bivol. Bivol dominated the fight using great defense, but Smith had a bit of success when he went to plan B and changed things up in the sixth round. The shock of the fight came in the closing seconds of the 10th round when Smith landed a flush right on Bivol that left Bivol literally knocked Out on his feet. The Bell clearly saved the senseless. Smith proved to the energetic audience that a puncher always has a punchers chance. Bivol really hurt Smith to close out the 12 round and retained his title via a unanimous decision.
Maurice Hooker vs Mikkel LesPierre
Mikkel LesPierre came into the title fight a heavy underdog and came out of the fight with much respect as he took all that Hooker can dish out and kept on coming. Maurice Mighty Mo Hooker won by unanimous decision.
Shawn Porter vs Yordenis Ugas
After Shawn Porter had a tremendous showing against Danny Swift Garcia rejuvenating his boxing style and career and launching himself into Boxing Action Magazine’s Top 20 P4P list, his performance against a game and ready to battle Yordenis Ugas was a bit underwhelming. It was a good fight and Porter just edged Ugas to get the decision win. Looks like Spence is up next for Porter.
Luis Ortiz vs Christian Hammer
The ageless Luis King Kong Ortiz refusing to show his age as he turns back the clock once again and dominates the Big Christian Hammer. Ortiz won a 10 round unanimous decision blooded Hammer of 10 rounds. Ortiz boxed well bouncing on the balls of his feet the entire night. Ortiz might have slowed down a bit with age, but his preparation, ring IQ, skills and determination make him a must watch Heavyweight Boxer.

Gabriel Rosado vs Maciej Sulecki
This middleweight elimination bout was one big roller coaster ride. Rosado and Sulecki come into the fight knowing a win gets them a shot at WBO Champion Demetrious Boo Boo Andrade and a chance to headline a huge boxing card this summer. This fight was beautiful as it was a tale of two fights. The undersized Rosado was getting dominated for most of the fight, Rosado not only took a beating but was down twice. Rosado started taking Sulecki’s punches a bit better in the second half of the fight and boxing and moving better. Rosado knowing he was well behind on the scorecards took it to Sulecki in the 9th and knocks Sulecki down twice in a shocking turn of events. Sulecki barely survives the 9th round and hangs in the 10th and final round to get the unanimous decision. Rosado almost pulled of a miracle come back. Awesome fight!!!
Boxing Action Magazine P4P #1 Boxer Katie Taylor dominates 36 year old undefeated champion Braziel Rose Volante. The young energetic Taylor was to much for Volante as the referee stopped the fight in the 9th. I believe it would have been a much more exciting fight if these to champions fought a few years ago when Volante was at her best.
Tevin Farmer vs Jono Carroll
Farmer and Carroll Entertained the crowd in Philadelphia for almost an hour as they fought toe-to-toe the entire 12 rounds both having there moments. Big respect to Jono Carroll – he left everything in the ring. Tevin the more natural boxer / counterpuncher and defensive wizard retained the IBF Jr. Lightweight title to end a spectacular card in Philadelphia.

Errol Spence Jr. vs Mikey Garcia
It was Boxing Action Magazine’s #2 P4P Spence against #7 P4P Garcia in a huge showdown that sent jitters up fans spine anticipating this fight of undefeated stars.
Spence vs Garcia probably the most exciting one-sided fight I have ever seen. Spence boxed the much smaller Garcia very well mastering distance throughout the whole fight. Garcia took a lot of punishment in the champions rounds but stood very tall earning much respect in his first loss in front of the 50,000 fans in Arlington, Texas. Errol Spence Jr. took his thorn as the king of the welterweight division. Looks like Porter is up next to fight Spence & PAC will fight Thurman. Good luck to Mikey trying to get excuse making Lomanchecko in the ring.
For the Record: Boxing Action Magazine’s continues to lead the way. Boxing Action was the first major publication to have Spence and Inoue in the Top 10 P4P list – over a year ago and has had Spence and Inoue #1 & #2 for the last four months.
Luis Nery vs McJoe Arroyo
Boxing Action Magazine #9 P4P Luis Nery showed that his skill level is rivaled by few as he decimated Arroyo in 4 rounds.
Kosei Tanaka vs Ryoichi Taguchi
Kosei Tanaka defended his Flyweight title against touch Ryoichi Taguchi winning another grueling unanimous decision victory. Tanaka currently in Boxing Action Magazine’s Top 20 P4P is slowly climbing the ladder into the top 10. Tanaka is very young and is set to make himself a legendary career, but will exciting fighting style catch up with him sooner then later – it seems that all his fights are Fight of the Year candidates.

Lamont Peterson vs Sergey Lipinets
Very good action fight as both boxers averaged almost 100 punches per round and landing about 35-40% of there shots. Lipinets was mixing up and sitting on his shots all night and caught Peterson in the 8th round. Lipinets again hurt Peterson with a series of shots in the 9th round. The 10th round was the end for the 35 year old Peterson. As he was being knocked down towards the end of the round, coach/trainer Barry Hunter threw in the towel. Congratulations Lips on a hard fought victory. Lamont Peterson called it a career at the end of an outstanding fight. Peterson finished a terrific career with a record of 35-5-1.
