World Boxing Council welterweight champion Shawn Porter will face IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. on September 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, in a long-expected, eagerly anticipated classic.
This will be Porter’s second defense. He won the vacant title against Danny Garcia, and retained it in a close fight over Cuban Yordenis Ugas in the first quarter of this year.
Meanwhile Spence Jr., comes from defeating Mikey Garcia last March. Quality fighters make quality fights!
At 31 years old, 11 of them as a professional boxer, Porter (30-2-1, 17 Ko’s) is fully and keenly aware that a victory over Spence Jr would be vital to his legacy as a fighter. Spence Jr. (25-0, 21 KOs), 29, is a fighter with great technique, icily determined to cement his own destiny by winning the WBC green and gold title.
