In 2011 GB boxer Joshua was spared jail AFTER being caught with 8oz of cannabis nut the judge gave him a second chance on the grounds he continued his bright future in boxing:
ANTHONY JOSHUA wants Jarrell Miller to be given a “second chance” following the American dope cheat’s ban from boxing.
Joshua, 29, looked set to make his Stateside debut against Miller on June 1 – but after the American failed three drug tests he was handed Andy Ruiz Jr as a replacement.
The Brooklyner cheated his way out of a life-changing fight in his home town at Madison Square Garden and faced a massive backlash from the boxing public.
But“soft” hearted AJ told TMZ Sports he would like “Big Baby” to receive a chance at redemption – just like the Watford ace was given for his “mistakes in life”.
Joshua said: “I don’t want to kick the man while he’s down. Hopefully [Miller] can turn this negative into a positive.
“I’m soft in that sense, because I know what a second chance in life gave me. I made my own mistakes.
“It didn’t have anything to do with drugs and cheating, but in life.
“I would like to see Miller have a second chance in life, but if he’s going to carry on in the same way and he didn’t truly learn, then the powers that be up above, they will not give him that second chance in life.”
