Demetrius Andrade will be home sweet home defending his WBO middleweight title against Maciej Sulecki.

Demetrius is young and being groomed to be a star, but on June 29th when he takes on Sulecki;  the training wheels are coming off.

Promoters love to groom and make super stars. Promoters work hard to protect potential stars by matching them up against opponents that they could beat.  When promoters pave the way for future stars, both parties do well and get paid.

What happens when a promoter sees a boxer has hit his ceiling? Simple, move on to the next money maker. Andrade needs a Knockout against Sulecki to stay in Hearn’s good graces.

Andrade has the talent to get the knockout, but if Andrade struggles there is a chance that he could be fed to the wolves of either GGG, Canelo or even Jacobs.

On June 29th Andrade will have his long awaited homecoming and hero’s welcome, but don’t be fooled, Andrade is under major pressure to perform and show the world that he is a must see fighter.

ANDRADE LANDS SULECKI HOMECOMING CLASH IN RHODE ISLAND WBO King defends title against Polish challenger on June 29 Demetrius Andrade will defend his WBO World Middleweight title against Maciej Sulecki on Saturday June 29 at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Rhode Island, Providence live on DAZN in the US and on Sky Sports in the UK. Andrade (27-0 17 KOs) defends his title for the second time in his first ever hometown show having seen off the challenge of Artur Akavov with a final round stoppage in New York in January, having become a two-weight World ruler in October in Boston, landing the vacant strap with a wide points win over rugged South African Walter Kautondokwa. Sulecki (28-1 11 KOs) enters the bout on the back of a thrilling encounter with Gabriel Rosado in Philadelphia in March, edging out the local favorite in a back-and-forth classic for the WBO International title. The Pole, ranked number three with the WBO, fights for a World title for the first time in his career, but has already served notice of his threat level having taken IBF king Daniel Jacobs the distance when they met in April 2018.
