World Boxing Council fly champion Charlie Edwards, will defend his crown this Saturday against Julio César Martínez (14-1-0, 11 Ko’s) at the O2 Arena in London, as part of the card led by Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko and local Luke Campbell.
Both fighters were face to face and chin to chin, in what was the last press conference before they got into the ring.
Charlie Edwards commented:
“I think that my boxing skills and the experience that I have gained in my professional career will give me the victory. I will deliver a perfect performance to continue being world champion.
“I am very motivated to make one more defense of my title and at home. The Green and Gold Belt will stay with me. I respect my rival and I know we are going to have a great fight but I am sure that I will win a resounding victory,” said Edwards.
Julio César Martínez commented:
“In his house and in front of his people, I am going to beat him, I come well prepared, as we have done an incredible job in the gym. I am ready for a war. I came for the knockout, but if the fight is extended I will also be ready to win by decision. The WBC belt goes back to Mexico with me.”
