The WBC has made another beautifully crafted Pink WBC Belt (this time a miniature-Bracelet).
After giving one to Clarissa Shields back in April for beating Christina Hammer and becoming the second female to be undisputed champion (middleweight division) of the world. The WBC is prepared to hand another pink title (bracelet) to the winner of this Saturday night‘s scrap between Katie Taylor & Delfine Persoon. The winner will become the third female to be Undisputed division world champion.
The WBC Released the Following Today:
On June 1st in Madison Square Garden in New York, WBC female lightweight champion Delfine Persoon will defend her crown for the tenth time against the talented and dangerous Olympic champion of 2012, Irish Katie Taylor, and the winner will receive the first ever WBC Women`s specially designed Bracelet.
Persoon, who has been a champion for five years, knows that this defense will not be easy, because of the sheer quality of Taylor and Taylor`s needling plus pointed desire to win the prestigious World Boxing Council belt. Accordingly the 34-year-old champion is implicitly trusting on her experience, her passion and her absolute commitment to the task at hand.
With such an important commitment, the WBC decided to present the first women’s WBC champion bracelet Pink Edition. A uniquely designed jewel, specifically created to boost the prestigious world championship.
The emblematic bracelet seeks to practically and aptly solve a problem, since the championship belts are large and can not always be taken to all events. So this superb championship emblem can accompany them everywhere, always being literally at hand.
Persoon Vs Taylor…time to discover who`s Best
World Boxing Council female Lightweight Champion, Belgian Delfine Persoon, will face Irish Katie Taylor, who`s also a world champion, in a Supreme Unification this Saturday at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Both fighters were present and correct at the final press conference, along with the other protagonists of the undercard.
Persoon has just a single and solitary loss in 44 professional fights. She has reigned as champion for five years, making nine successful defenses, with great and memorable performances, categorically proving she`s one of the very best fighters in the world. Yet Persoon has never fought outside of Europe. Almost all of her career has been in her native country. But now, she takes on this difficult unification challenge against Taylor, in New York, which will define the world’s best fighter in the 135-pound division.
Meanwhile undaunted Taylor, is undefeated in 13 matches. She won her first world title in just her seventh professional fight, when she defeated Anahi Sánchez to win the WBA crown. Then she beat Victoria Noelia Bustos to win the IBF title, and in her last fight on March 15, she knocked out the previously unbeaten Brazilian Rose Volante, to win the WBO crown.
This fascinating and fabulous fight is organized by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, and will be broadcast by the DAZN and Combate Space app in Latin America.
