On this day in history, Tony Bellew conquered the WBC cruiserweight crown

On this day in history, Tony “Bomber” Bellew conquered the WBC cruiserweight belt by defeating Ilunga Makabu at the Goodison Park Stadium in Liverpool.
Tony was knock down in the first round but was able to recover. On the third round, Bellew took Makabu to the ropes and landed a series of powerful shots to get the TKO victory.
During his illustrious career, he fought as light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight.
