The closest possibly of two of the big three Heavyweights fighting each other in the near future is Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury in December of this year or the first half of 2020 depending on where the fight will be staged to make the maximum amount of money.
All indications would tell us that this mega fight would be broadcast on ESPN pay-per-view. The question will be is the United States PPV money greater than the huge domestic showdown in England.
Also let’s not count DAZN out yet, as they might have something to say be offering guaranteed money ( which is always more welcomed) instead of waiting to get paid by the cable companies broadcasting the PPV.
Joshau is comfortable fighting twice a year and could take on Fury after his June 1st fight against Ruiz at MSG. Fury likes being active and is set to fight twice in the coming three months.
Baring an injury, severe cut or upset, the only other Component that may throw a monkey wrench in this equation would be the possibility of of Wladimir Klitschko coming back out of retirement (most likely not happening) and one of the Champions grabbing this highly lucrative fight before facing each other.
It took some time, but all the big promoters are privately on the same page finally realizing that less is more and that these fights are very lucrative if they simply wait and market as Mayweather/ PAC did. In public it will appear that these promoters are at each other throats, but they are currently on the same page.
This summer there will be lots of behind the scenes planning on making the Joshua vs Fury fight in late 2019 or most likely and realistically in Spring of 2020.
