Demetrius Andrade will defend his WBO middleweight title against Maciej Sulecki. The June 28th showdown will take place at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island and will be broadcast exclusively on the DAZN Application.
Andrade is ecstatic to have the opportunity to defend his title in his home town and wants to put on a special performance for his hometown fans on June 28th.
Maciej Sulecki (28-1, 11 KOs) earned the title shot by beating Gabriel Rosado this past March in Rosado’s backyard of Philadelphia. Sulecki appeared to be dominating the entire fight against Rosado till the championship rounds came around. Rosado somehow took Sulecki’s best shots and managed to hurt Sulecki and almost knock him out at the end of the fight. Sulecki barely survived against the smaller Rosado and won a 10 round unanimous decision.
Andrade has set his sights on the top dogs in all of boxing. He wants to put Canelo in the winning column of his ledger and now with Gennady Golovkin contracted with DAZN, Andrade wants to fight him as well.
In talking to Andrade, he seems to really have an understanding of the boxing game and business. Andrade can joke around and have fun just like anyone, but he knows he has to take care of business if he wants to keep moving forward. Andrade also has a clear understanding of his boxing goals and the steps and time that need to be taken to get there.
June 28th, Andrade vs Sulecki should be fireworks
