These two cubs have been in the Den and deep under protection from the Alpha Male, Al Haymon. Recently they asked their Den leaders/protectors for some Shots so they can get onto the top 25 P4P list. But instead of the lions taking them to 620 Atlantic Ave.,Brooklyn Barclays Center, they were led to Times Square ( GQ Magazine HQ) we’re they took all the Shots they wanted and got some nice cloth to boot.
Seriously, these Cats (The Charlo brother) have been guided properly and have come along way. They are well-positioned and still undefeated and ready to make a run at their respective division. They have been blessed to be guided and not rushed, many talented boxers over the years have had poor guidance or been used and their talent and gifts were not properly showcased. Either by being shortsighted or having greedy people manage them many boxers never even got the right start. Now that these young lions are primed, will they be unleashed to become some of boxings best or will they sit back and collect checks being happy on the undercards.
I am not talking about paper championships, I’m talking about fighting the top contenders in the division. Jermall is coming of a good 2nd round KO over Hugo Centeno Jr. back in April. Now if he wants to be talked about with the top middleweights he has to fight the like of Canelo, GGG, Saunders, Jacobs, Andrade or Derevyanchenko. If none are available, settling for kid chocolate would be ok.
Jermell Charlo at some point really has to step up and fight some of the better fighters at 154. There are plenty of big fights to make the lion a star, The over size, young Jaime Munguia, Jarrett Hurd is currently the top dog, there’s also the ageless Erislandy Lara, Sebastian Formella and the always exciting, the Special One, from Sheffield, England, Kell Brook who takes on all comers. If he wants to go to England I am sure he will fight in front of a record crowd. Brook vs. Jermell at the Barclays Center would be awesome.
At this stage, Jermall and Jermell Charlo are no longer cubs, there predators, question is: can they become Alpha in the Lions Only Club we call Boxing.
