JOE SMITH EARNS VICTORY, BUT SHOWS DAMAGE FROM BIVOL FIGHT
By Jimmy Ayash
In a night that saw more action in the stands than in the ring, Light Heavyweight top contender Joe Smith Jr. dominates Jesse Hart over ten rounds at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City. ESPN did a terrific job broadcasting the program to the boxing nation.
Joe Smith Jr. Won a hard earned victory and may have positioned himself for another title fight opportunity. How one of the judges had the fight won for Hart is beyond comprehension.
Smith missed out on a knockout opportunity by failing to pound Hart’s body early. Smith did a lot of headhunting and missed the chance to what seemed to be a tailor-made KO fight for him.
Smith took a lot of punishment in the 12 round last March when he fought Bivol for a world title. That damage is still showing as Smith sometimes looked a bit off balance whenever Hart landed to the temple area.
Congratulations Joe Smith Jr.!!!
